Congratulations to USC Nikkei for its Culture Night performance on Thursday entitled, “Wasuremono” (“Something Forgotten”). The film, interspersed with performances from USC’s kendo and taiko clubs, explores the sometimes complex theme of Japanese American identity through the life of a fifth-generation college student, portrayed by lead cast member Jacky Jung.
Because of the breath and depth of such a project, the USC NSU doesn’t have a Culture Night every year. It all depends on its leadership. But thanks to co-presidents Chloe Wang and Matt Weisbly and co-directors Taylor Shigezawa and Marii Krueger, the show went on, and went on in fine fashion.
